Sashiko Cushion

Part of the Salvage Collection. Sashiko stitching (meaning little stabs) was commonly used to reinforce already-patched clothing around points of wear, layers of scarce and precious cloth. We’ve used sashiko stitching to attach thin handwoven cloth to a base layer for strength. Leaving the warp yarns to create a soft fringe for added texture.
