Before cutting, allow for natural shrinkage, especially with plant-based fibres. Steam or press the fabric to release any tension. For delicate and chunkier weaves, or when upholstering, we recommend backing the fabric with interlining for added structure and stability.

Our preferred choice is Freudenberg 100% Cotton Interlining.

Always select a cleaner who is familiar with natural, handwoven textiles to preserve the integrity of your fabric.

Not recommended. Cold water with mild detergent may be suitable for some fabrics, but Sett & Beat cannot be held responsible for any damage caused by hand washing.

Use a steam iron on low heat. For cotton, linen, bamboo, and other plant fibres, steam when damp to ease creases. We recommend using a pressing cloth between the iron and fabric for additional protection.

Gently blot stains with a damp cloth. Never rub.

For long-term storage, avoid folding. Instead, roll or lay flat. We provide dust bags for protection. Use natural moth repellents when storing wool or mohair items.
